Star India's Jalsha Movies creates planet football through Calcutta Football League

For football lovers watching the Calcutta Football League (CFL) live every evening on Star India’s Jalsha Movies, is a whole new experience with first-of-its-kind broadcast quality, presentation and star involvement. For the first time all the 66 CFL matches will reach more than 9.1 million people weekly. Jalsha Movies, recently acquired the exclusive broadcast rights for two prestigious football events – the Calcutta Football League and IFA Shield Tournament. The CFL matches are telecast every day at 4 pm to be played from September till December 2013. Jalsha Movies has put together a commentary team that boasts of the first women commentator RJ Nilam in the history of football broadcasting in India along with two former India players Debjit Ghosh and Rajat Ghosh Dastidar. For the first time a woman anchor, Tollywood star diva Sayani – has been introduced in football. Adding to the fun factor on ground is-‘Guleda’. Top Tollywood actresses like Koyel and Srabanti have attended the matches to cheer for their favourite teams upping the glam quotient. Says Kevin Vaz, Business Head, Star Jalsha, Jalsha Movies– “For us at Jalsa Movies the acquisition of CFL broadcast rights is a strategic step towards ensuring an even more engaging relationship with our viewers. We have always showcased the best, the biggest blockbuster movies and now we are all geared to bring the viewer’s there other most famous passion – football, live in their own language with a stadium like experience.” The league this season is providing an enhanced viewing experience with top class television production associated with the STAR India. A ten camera set-up and helicopter shot of stadium has been planned during big matches. For the first time big lenses (tele -lenses) are being used, backed by crystal clear sound - of players, crowd and kicking of ball all giving a live stadium like experience at home. Jalsha Movies has always changed the rules of the game by its characteristic production quality, international packaging formats and by bringing in the excitement of blockbuster movies for the viewers of Bengal. Till date the channel has stayed true to its promise of bringing home excitement in Bangla and the CFL coverage will be no exception. The broadcast will change the way football has been viewed in Bengal.
