Though his most expensive show Rani Padmini… did not attract many eyeballs, art director and producer Nitin Chandrakant Desai is not upset at all and has moved on to some more historical characters. The buzz has it that Desai is all set to recreate the Taj Mahal and may also start working on Baji Rao Mastani. The production house is on the look out for suitable faces to play key roles in Taj Mahal.
Disclosed a source, “Though Nitin Desai knows that Rani Padmini didn’t do well, he is not tense and is all set to strike back with a new historical show Taj Mahal which will be made by his production house. Yesterday he celebrated his birthday in Karjat very lavishly and that shows how positive is he. He believes in good work and he is again coming up with another eternal love story.”
Divulging more about the shows the source disclosed, “He has begun work on Taj Mahal and also has been approved by a very popular channel. After Taj Mahal he may come up with Baji Rao Mastani. In fact Sanjay Leela Bhansali was to make a film based on Baji Rao Mastani but the project was shelved. So people will get to see some great shows on TV very soon. ”
About Baji Rao Mastani the source said, “Baji Rao Mastani is a love story of Baji Rao, who was a general (Peshwa) to the fourth Maratha Chhatrapati, named Shahu. He served him from1719 and his Muslim wife Mastani until his death. The story has very emotional twists and turns that will surely attract the audiences and will make them fall in love with the show.”
Unlike his maiden production, Rani Padmini… both the shows will not be aired on Sony entertainment television.
We called producer Nitin Desai but his cell was switched off.
We sincerely hope history does not repeat itself.
