Lauren Gottlieb, the first ever American contestant on Jhalak (Colors) is all set to put the stage on fire. Nobody can ignore her as she has a body to die for and sexy moves to make any one go gaga.
Having played one of the leads in Remo D’souza’s ABCD (Any Body Can Dance), Lauren is now ready to sizzle the Jhalak stage along with her choreographer Punit Pathak.
Tellychakkar.com engages her for a brief chat on the sidelines of the show.
Excerpts:
How do you feel to be a part of the dance series? “Well, it’s just the beginning and it feels insane. Right now I can only feel the vibes, love and anticipation in me. I am all set for the show,” Lauren avers flashing her pearlies.
Are you lucky to have Punit as your partner? “I am super lucky to have him as my partner. We know each other from the time we did ABCD. I am his big fan and to work with someone I am a fan of, both in the field of choreography and acting, is just awesome. I think he has got a very creative mind and always comes up with different concepts. So, I guess we are going to push through this,” she observes.
Have you seen the earlier seasons of Jhalak? “Yes, they have given me a DVD of the earlier seasons; so I am checking it out. I have seen some breathtaking performances of Salman and Isha (Sharvani),” she informs.
Both of you are well-trained dancers. So what new can we see on this stage? “I am looking forward to Bollywood dancing and I just can’t wait for it. It is going to be tough, have never done it though. I had little taste of it in ABCD but am determined to do something beyond that. But I think, Punitt would be the right person who can comment on it.”
Avers Punit, “From day one Jhalak is known for bringing in something new. Even if the dance style has been done beforethere is a new concept or new twist in it, both of us will try to do something different and unique which has never been seen before not only in India but also abroad. This is because we are the mixture of India and US which you won’t find it anywhere.”
Lauren, what do you think of Indian dance style? “I think it’s beautiful. From costumes, to expressions, to music, it’s wonderful.” Puneet intervenes to add, “The other day, she saw Madhuri ji (Dixit) live and all that she could say was “Wow! She is so elegant and soft and I want to be like her.”
Lauren, we are sure you are going to set the Jhalak stage afire!!!
