Expectations are high when it comes to the Swastik Productions’ magnum-opus historical Mahabharat on Star Plus that premieres from 16 September (2013).
Now joining the huge cast list of the much-expected show is actor Ankit Mohan who was last seen in Sahara One’s Ghar Aaja Pardesi. He was part of an episodic recently in Life OK’s Savdhan India.
The young lad who was earlier part of Shobha Somnath Ki, which was produced by Siddharth Tewary is elated on playing the role of Ashwathama in Mahabharat.
Says he, “I have already worked with Swastik Pictures for Zee TV’s Shobha Somnath Ki. I am glad they liked my performance and called me back again for Mahabharat. I will essay the role of Ashwathama, who is one of the 8 immortals, and has so many layers to his character. I would get to show my versatility as an actor and I am really excited to take up this challenge.”
The interesting part is that Ankit was earlier offered the role of Dushasan, but could not see himself to playing the role. However, when asked to play Ashwathama he instantly gave the nod.
Ashwathama is the son of Dronacharya, Guru of all Pandavas and Kauravas. Ashwathama and Karna represent Duryodhan. He was born with a gem on his forehead and only he and Arjun knew the art of using the Brahmastra.
Here is an exclusive picture (check above) of Ankit in his avatar of Ashwathama.
Here’s wishing the actor all the luck!!!
