Arjun Punjj out of Woh Rehne Wali…

SaharaOne's Rani has a brand new Raja! Arjun Punjj, who played Raj in Woh Rehne Wali…has decided to quit the show due to certain issues that had cropped up between him and the makers of the show. "There were a few differences…We (Rajshri Productions) can still work together in the future, if they want. It would be unprofessional of me to talk about the issues," clarifies Arjun, who had been part of shows like Sanjeevani, before taking a hiatus to star in a forgettable skin flick.

It would be unprofessional of me to talk about the issues," clarifies Arjun, who had been part of shows like Sanjeevani, before taking a hiatus to star in a forgettable skin flick. "Arjun wants to move on. He wants to devote his time and energy to films and since the track is changing we required more dates from him, which he couldn't give. We parted ways amicably, and replacements are compulsions of television nowadays and nothing can be done about it," says SaharaOne's creative head, fiction Kumud Choudhury. Arjun's replacement is Kashif, who has played the parallel lead in Meher (on DD). He has also appeared in various ads, like Rexona Deodrant, Khaitan fans, Victoria vest and Lipton tea. Kashif was chosen after rounds of auditions and has been shooting for the last 25 days. "He has a good face and is a good actor as well. He fit the role to the T," says Kumud. "This is a major break for me. I have been watching this serial for a long time and really, it hasn't ben difficult for me to carry on where Arjun left," says Kashif. "He is a good actor and he is as professional as Arjun was...Arjun had his own grievances and I really don't know the inside story. I was so used to seeing Arjun as Raj, and obviously it will take time for me to accept somebody in his place, but in our field of work, these things keep happening," says Reena Kapoor, who plays the lead in the show. Meanwhile, Arjun has no other assignment in hand and is still keeping his fingers crossed about doing good work, until then....he has loads of time on his hands...
