MUMBAI: International film director Gurinder Chadha is working on her next project—a highly prestigious one for British channel ITV. Titled Beecham House, it is a six-part series based in the 19th-century Delhi. The historical series was commissioned by the channel in March.
TellyChakkar has exclusive information that the acclaimed director has found her male lead. A reliable source reveals that the cast of the anticipated project will majorly comprise Indian actors. For one of the primary characters, the makers have roped in talented Hindi actor Arunoday Singh. The 35-year-old will be playing one of the lead characters in the multi-starrer project. Arunoday was last seen in Blackmail (2018) alongside Irrfan Khan.
What do you think of Arunoday Singh and Gurinder Chadha?
Interestingly, this will be Gurinder and Arunoday’s second director–actor collaboration. In 2017, Arunoday was a part of Gurinder’s British–Indian drama Viceroy’s House.
Beecham House will be Arunoday’s debut in the TV space. Not much is known about his character except that he will be seen in a different look altogether.
The series will take viewers through the journey of a British soldier, John Beecham. His attempts to escape his past of profiteering with the East India Company by acquiring a mansion in Delhi form the crux of the story. The dark secrets that the mansion harbours unfold as the story progresses.
Arunoday hasn’t responded to TellyChakkar yet.
The shooting for the project will soon begin in India.
