MUMBAI :Indian television shows have been a part of the audience's daily lives for a long time now. Over time, the type and platform of content changed a lot but people still wish to go back to television dramas and call it their comfort zone.

There are a lot of television shows which have won the hearts of the audience but there is something that the audience has pointed out.

There are two types of characters in any daily soap, positive or negative. These days characters are mostly grey shade and not completely negative.

In the plot, the positive characters are always correct and do things the right way. Similarly, the negative or grey-shade characters are always trying to plan and ruin things. The audience feels that what the makers fail to understand is that they are humans in the end even if fictional. Nobody can be right or wrong every time.

The netizens feel the need for a balance when writing characters so that the audience relates more.

Roshni Agrawal: I wish the makers understood that there needs to be a balance when designing characters. Even if it is a protagonist, the person can be wrong or lose it sometimes. This is quite basic and the makers always put the protagonists on a pedestal which makes them the epitome of truth and good deeds.

Shruti Sinha: A human can make mistakes sometimes and have a wrong approach towards something too. But the negative characters always have the same approach and so do the positive ones. I wish the makers understood the basic concept so that the audience could find the characters more relatable.

Palak Rajpal: The audience wishes to relate with the characters and very easily gets influenced by the way the characters are acting. The negative characters are always planning against someone. They will also get tired of it at some point but never in the tracks does the person take a break from plotting.

Riya Mishra: There needs to be some balance between the characteristics a character portrays. The positive needs to be brought down from the pedestal and have something go wrong so that the audience connects more. The grey-shade characters can be right too and positive ones can go wrong. That is how life works and the makers should have a more authentic approach.
