The news of Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum (DABH) going off air did come as a disappointment for all.
But what came as a solace was the announcement of the show launching its second season.
And here we are with some exclusive updates from the new project by Shashi Sumeet productions Pvt Ltd.
Popular and dashing actor Avinesh Rekhi who was all set to make his comeback with Radha Krishna (which got scrapped) has been roped in to play the lead role in DABH 2.
The actor who has been part of shows like Chhal and Madhubala will play a strong role in the new series.
Shared a source, “The makers wanted an actor who was good looking and with a strong personality. Avinesh fitted the bill and the makers have reportedly signed the actor.”
Recent reports also stated that Niti Taylor will play the lead girl in the season 2 who will play Sooraj (Anas Rashid)-Sandhya’s (Deepika Singh) daughter.
When we called Avinesh, he mentioned, “Yes, I have been approached but I haven’t got any confirmation from the makers.”
