TV actress Bhavana Balsaver has been a part of many comedy shows, till date. Currently, she is seen in SAB TV’s silent comedy Gutur Gu. And though she has tried her hand in serious roles also, she is completely smitten by the comedy bug. “I would never give up comedy,” she says of her association with the genre. In fact, her first play as a writer is also a comedy, titled Mera Naam Joker. “I have adapted many plays in the past. But, this is the first play that I have penned down myself,” reveals Bhavana. This play has been running for two years now. “And every six months, we perform for NDA (National Defense Academy). It feels great to entertain these people,” she beams. Talking about her sitcom, she is very happy to be a part of it. “The show was supposed to be of thirteen episodes, but it picked up and the channel decided to keep it,” says Bhavana about the show which is India’s first silent comedy and has been running for two years now. In fact, Gutur Gu has come as a well deserved break to her. “All the characters that I have played in the past, spoke just too much. So, I am happy that now I do not have to speak at all. I do not have to care about my dialogues and the mic,” smiles the actress. “For some reason I have got to play the character of a dumb girl only. And people often wonder if I am as dumb in my real life, too,” says Bhavana. So she sets the record straight, “In my personal life, I am very serious and quiet, so playing such a role feels good,” ends Bhavana.
