MUMBAI: Varun Sood, who is currently seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 11, is one of the strongest contestants this season. The good-looking actor has done a few reality shows in the past and has been a gang leader on Roadies last season.

Recently, Varun spoke to a leading daily and shared how he was under pressure after he signed the show as his fans expected a lot from him due to his reality show background. He further spoke about making new friends on the show, overcoming his phobias and how Divyanka Tripathi surprised him with her daredevil avatar.

Varun also revealed about girlfriend Divya Agarwal being his constant support while shooting for KKK 11 and her reaction to his beach pictures with Sana Makbul, Nikki Tamboli and Vishal Aditya Singh.

He also opened up about his marriage plans with Divya.

Opening up on meeting and bonding with senior actors, Varun said, "The experience has been great. When I left Mumbai for Cape Town, I thought that I would spend 45 days doing my stunts and returning home, but I didn’t realise I would make such good friends. I’ve learnt a lot from all the contestants and the show. I am really glad that I am a part of this show and I met such good people and senior actors. We have become one family.".

Talking about his pressure during signing up for Khatron Ke Khiladi 11, Varun revealed, "Yes, there was a lot of pressure when I had signed the show and reports of me participating in KKK 11 came out in the media. People started saying that he would do the show very easily, he won't face any difficulty while doing the show. I had pressure on me that I will have to prove myself to the fans and viewers. When I went there I realised that whatever reality shows I’ve done in the past and KKK11 are very different. This show is made on a very large scale. We don’t get to see lions, cheetahs, flying cars or helicopters on any other show. This is the only show which has all this and is made on such a huge scale. I am saying this with all honesty that the stunts I’ve done on this show, I’ve never ever done in any other show. I also want to add that none of my previous experiences came handy while I was doing KKK11, the past experiences did not help me. I have passion, determination and strength that I don’t give up easily. This is the only thing that works in favour for me on the show.".

Talking about his biggest fears, Varun revealed, "The one thing that I feared the most is snakes and I was hoping that I don’t get a stunt which has snakes. But when I performed a stunt with snakes, I was more worried and scared of getting eliminated and returning home and because of that, I was able to do the stunts. After the stunt when I was thinking about how I performed and that I was actually sleeping in between the snakes, I couldn’t believe myself. I did that stunt because of that particular moment but if you ask me to pick a snake now, I won’t be able to do it. For that moment I just got over my fear of snakes. There were many other animals and insects on the show because of which I have developed new phobias.".

Sharing his bond with Yeh Hai Mohabattein fame and co-contestant Divyanka Tripathi, he said, "Divyanka Tripathi (di) has surprised me a lot. We have always seen her in a bahu avatar on television, in a very calm and sweet avatar. But when she went there the way she performed all the stunts it was unbelievable. She would do the stunts with a smile on her face. I couldn’t believe that she is the same Divyanka Tripathi who I’ve watched on television playing a Bahu and now she’s doing such daredevil stunts in such an easy way.".

Talking about Rohit Shetty's impact on him, Varun shared, "Rohit sir is a person who started his career as a stuntman. He has worked hard to make a place for himself in the industry. He is so successful and on top-level, yet he’s so humble and down to earth. He helps all of us and shares his experiences but while performing stunts he knows very well what should be said to which contestant so that he/she performs stunts well. Whenever I would see a stunt and look at him, he would say don’t worry you will do it. He would show confidence in me and I would feel very happy.".

"Because of Khatron Ke Khiladi 11, I’ve learnt that if you make up your mind, you can achieve anything. I’ve often heard this, but on this show I experienced it. There were so many injuries, there were times when my body was giving up and did not feel like doing the stunts but when I made up my mind, I was able to do all the stunts. I have learnt that your mind is the most powerful weapon. It doesn’t matter how much you are working out and going to the gym, if you are not mentally strong you can’t do anything.", Varun shared regarding using his mind as his 'most-powerful weapon'.

Talking about his long-distance relationship with girlfriend Divya Agarwal, he shared, "Divya Agarwal has been very proud of my KKK11 journey. I would keep her updated about my stunts. It was very difficult for me because I am used to her being around physically and I like her being around me. Thankfully, even though she was not around me, she was constantly in touch with me over the phone. Our schedule was so hectic but still, I would take out time and talk to her daily and that used to do all the magic. She would support me and motivate me and I used to feel better.".

He further added, "Divya is very happy that I made new friends on KKK11 because generally, I don’t make new friends. I like to stay reserved and keep my life private. When I was 19 and just joining the industry, I had only a few friends Rannvijay Singh, Prince Narula, Raftaar, Neha Dhupia and Nikhil Chinappa are my only friends. I just chill out with them in Mumbai. Divya is very happy that after 5-6 years I’ve made new friends. She is happy that I took the initiative and made friends. So she was very happy seeing the beach pictures with Sana Makbul, Vishal and everyone. She told me you should have clicked more pictures.".

Lastly, revealing his marriage plans with girlfriend Divya Agarwal, he claimed that he and Divya are 'too young for marriage'. He further added, "Divya and I are very young, marriage is something which will be eventually on the cards in the future. I don’t like the fact that some people keep asking me why are you not getting married. We don’t want to get married right now. We have a lot to do in life. Right now, we both are taking care of our families and we want to excel in our careers. Eventually, whenever the marriage happens everyone will get to know. Right now, we are in a very good space, we are staying together working and having fun. It’s great and we are very young to get married.".
