In many cases, societal norms tend to place the blame on women, portraying them as opportunistic when alimony is involved. However, the reality is that both men and women can face challenges during a divorce, including societal judgement and financial scrutiny.

In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar, Chahatt Khanna shared her thoughts on the focus placed on alimony in divorce proceedings today.

She stated, ‘The pattern in a male-dominated society has developed in such a way that alimony is viewed as a curse. People assume that a woman is only seeking divorce for financial gain, making it seem like an easy option for her’

She further elaborated, saying, ‘Our society is quick to look down upon women. We are soft targets, and blame is easily placed on us. It is a very vulnerable position to be in, where people automatically assume that if a woman is getting divorced, she must be at fault’

Chahatt concluded by asserting that divorce is about much more than just alimony. ‘It’s not always the case that women seek alimony. There are many women, including myself, who do not take or even discuss it. You cannot measure a relationship in terms of money or legal documents that would be unfair’

The actress has been on a break from television for some time now, and her fans are eagerly awaiting her return to the screen.
