After tasting success with Zee's Meri Doli Tere Angana, producer Rahul Bhatt has already rolled out his second show for DD1. Titled Chukar Mere Man Ko, the bi-monthly (Thurs-Fri) is a socio-realistic drama about the trials and tribulations of three young protagonists in Mumbai. "It's a realistic show but the treatment will be very entertaining. The basic concept bridges the cultural gap between a town and a city like Mumbai," reveals Rahul Bhatt. The main starcast comprises of three new girls - Pari (Samiksha), Tiya (Kristi) and Alvira (Roshni), Pankaj Bedi and Paintal. The girls hail from places from Lucknow and Benaras and are staying with an elderly couple as paying guests." Elaborating on the main story, writer Rohit Raj says, "I would say the story is a mix of Saaransh and Page 3. The main protagonist of the show Samiksha is a journalist and will do something only if it touches her heart. If something doesn't appeal to her she will not touch the subject. It is this quality of hers which oftentimes gets her into a problem. The main track unfolds when a builder wants to breakdown the house of the elderly couple with whom they are staying as paying guests." The plot thickens and takes an interesting turn when the aggressive builder lobby wants to construct a mall there. The serial also portrays the real struggle of the elderly couple while they try to cope up with the local corporator and the builder lobby. This is where the lead protagonist Samiksha steps in as a journalist to help out the elderly couple. In all, we can say that Chukar is a realistic show with some soapy entertaining lather to it.
