Originally airing on Sony TV from 21st January 1998 to 27th October 2018, CID remains one of India’s longest-running scripted television shows, completing an impressive two-decade journey.

The show followed the investigative cases of the Crime Investigation Department, led by the indomitable ACP Pradyuman, played by the legendary Shivaji Satam.

Its success was driven by thrilling storylines, an exceptional mix of crime and drama, and unforgettable catchphrases none more famous than ACP Pradyuman’s "Kuch toh gadbad hai!" (Something is amiss!).

The dynamic between Inspector Abhijeet, Daya, and the rest of the team, along with the now-legendary “Daya, darwaza tod do!” (Daya, break the door!), became an enduring part of Indian pop culture.

Now, after years of anticipation, CID has returned with Season 2, receiving a warm welcome from fans. The new season opened with strong ratings, proving the show’s legacy remains as powerful as ever.

With its arrival on Netflix, CID is set to reach a global audience, allowing international viewers to experience the thrill of the show’s intense investigations.

This move significantly expands its reach beyond traditional television, making it accessible anytime, anywhere.

Adding to the excitement, CID will also be adapted into an anime-style animated series, soon to be available on Sony LIV.

This fresh take on the show is expected to bring a unique flavour to the beloved franchise, appealing to a younger generation of viewers.

With its new digital presence and fresh content in the pipeline, CID is gearing up for an exciting new chapter.

Whether you're a long-time fan or discovering the show for the first time, there’s never been a better time to dive into the world of ACP Pradyuman and his team.
