Colors Bangla launches new soap Benebou

It is said that follow your dreams as they keep you alive and hopeful. But is it always good to run after your dreams? What if the journey is full of unbreakable thrones? What if your dreams trap you in a vicious circle and also create problems for someone? Well, Colors Bangla’s new serial ‘Benebou’ is all about finding these answers through the two lead protagonists Shapla and Palok essayed by Chandni Saha and Tonni Laha Roy respectively. Other actors to be part of the show include Mita Chatterjee, Raja Chatterjee, Kanchona Moitra, Bimal Chakraborty, and Alik Banerjee to name a few. Now coming to the plot, as mentioned above, the story is about dreams and aspirations of two girls: Shapla, a poor village girl who joins her father’s jatra team and Palok, a rich modern educated girl who dreams to make it big in the modelling industry. A story without a hero would be incomplete. So, to add drama in the story of these two girls would enter Ved (Alik). He is a rich M.B.A pass out entrepreneur. In the unpredictable game of life, an interesting thread would connect the three people. Palok and Ved’s marriage gets fixed through the family but the former is in no mood to get hitched as she wants to fulfill her dream of modelling. Instead, Shapla gets married to Ved by chance. But Ved is in love with Palok so how their lives will change after this turn of the event is for the viewers to find out. Snehasish Chakraborty, Blues, said about the serial, “Benebou is a clean lucid story presented rationally. It has all the ingredients required for an entertaining show.” “I believe people love my serials. I expect apart from children, it would appeal to everyone,” he added with a smile. When quizzed what made him zero in on the term Benebou, he quipped, “Benebou is a name of a bird (black-hooded oriole). It is said that one needs to be careful about the kashandhi (a food item) or else the bird would destroy it by entering inside the house. The term has been used as a symbol in the story. Here Benebou represents Shapla.” Directed by Pijush Kar, it will start airing from 18th April, 6 pm.
