Actor-turned-host Samir Kochhar, known for anchoring IPL seasons broadcasted on Sony MAX and SIX, is currently focusing on its eighth season. We got into a quick conversation with Samir...take a look: Enjoying his stint on the game show, Samir said, "The journey has definitely been a magical one. We have received tremendous love and support from people and I try to make the game entertaining for them. Speaking strictly about the game might not appeal to everyone, so it is indeed important to provide audience with entertainment quotient!" Being with one program for eight seasons definitely makes the show a special one for the host, and Samir and IPL’s connection is no different. Speaking about the same, Samir said, “In the last eight years, thirty one anchors have joined and left, but fortunately enough, I am the only one who has been associated with it from the very first season." “Initially, during the first season, I was a bit nervous and scared but the Sony team has always been supportive and encouraging. And over the years, I believe that the connection has become stronger with time and opening of more interactive platforms like social media”, added Samir. Even though cricket is supposed to be enjoyed by men, IPL has seen many beautiful ladies taking the lead. “I think women should definitely come out front. Mandira Bedi, Shibani Dandekar and Archana Vijaya are definitely the perfect combination of beauty, brains and skills. I am personally a big supporter of women taking part in shows." Before signing off, Samir mentioned that he was rooting for underdogs to take home the trophy this season.
