Dance Ke Baap - DID L'il Masters scores over 'star power' on television

Zee TV’s DID L’il Masters has created a record with a stupendous opening TVR of 5.8, and this makes them the undisputed winner in the TRP race, thus outscoring the launch day ratings of the popular non-fiction shows including Sony Entertainment Television’s Kaun Banega Crorepati (5.2 TVR) and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 (4.1 TVR) and Star Plus’ Just Dance (3.7 TVR) in the last one year. This is what we call the power of kids, isn’t it? And this comes after the show opened at a record-breaking TVR of 6.7 in season one last year (2011). The show, judged by Geeta Kapur and Marzi Pestonji, has popular contestants of the previous seasons of Dance India Dance coming in as ‘skippers’ to groom the young talents. The Grandmaster of DID Mithun Chakraborty will be making surprise appearances in the show. Zee TV Non-Fiction Head, Ashish Golwalkar expressed his happiness by stating, “We are overwhelmed by the roaring response our viewers have given to the very first episode of DID L'il Masters. Once again, the content did the talking as we had full conviction in its format and the young talent on this platform. This season will again be all about the magic of the kids. Their innocence and sheer talent are bound to win over the hearts of the audience.” Talking about the ratings on her new show DID Lil Masters, Judge Geeta Kapur said, “I was ecstatic to hear about the ratings that the opening show garnered. It made me glad to know that the entire country is hooked to these kids in the same way that they have floored us right from the auditions. Whatever people might say, there is not a soul in this country that can honestly resist the charms of these children. Whether it is housewives, youngsters or senior citizens, DID Lil Masters has something for everyone and I think it is this that has gotten viewers hooked onto the show.” What’s more? Zee TV has also unleashed a highly interactive online marketing campaign. The best video clips from the auditions have already gone viral on You tube. A separate channel invites young children to upload their clips of dance, the best amongst which will be featured as a part of the title montage of the show that will change every week, giving every talented child in the country a chance to see himself dancing on national television. There will be clips with intricately choreographed dance acts performed by the little masters that will challenge the adults in the audience. Clips of the best performances posted by adults will stand to be gratified by the channel. Way to go, Zee TV!!
