MUMBAI: “We should honour our daughters and help them prosper and grow in life without doubting and restricting them,” says Dadhi Pandey who is essaying the role of Brij Mohan Pandey, Sarandhar’s father, in Sony Entertainment Television's popular show Story 9 Months Ki.

Alia Shroff essayed by Sukirti Kandpal decides to become a single mother and raise her child all by herself. However, in the process, Sarangdhar played by Aashay Mishra who is the accidental donor of her child decides to co-parent the baby alongside Alia. Whereas, Alia is hesitant to the idea of co-parenting and decides to visit Sarangdhar’s hometown Mathura and meet his family which is all part of her bigger plan to get rid of him. However, that is when Alia will also meet with the entire Pandey family and get acquainted with the culture in his house.
Dadhi Pandey, who is seen playing Sarangdhar's father Brij Mohan Pandey, has an orthodox mindset and wants his son and daughters to adhere to his rules and follow his instructions in life. Speaking about his role, Dadhi expresses his views, and said, “My character is very contradicting to who I am as a person. Brij Mohan is very controlling and always wants his family to abide by his decisions, but his kids want to follow their own heart and make their own choices. A daughter is not a burden but rather a pillar of support for her family.”
He further added, *“While things have become a lot better these days, but there are still families who are quite traditional in their thinking when it comes to women of the house wanting to pursue independent careers and make their own decisions. This is the typical patriarchal mindset. I feel that a girl's life should not be defined just by her marriage or her decision to have children. In fact, she should be considered as a pillar of strength for her family. Women should be able to exercise their right to live the way they want to.” *
