MUMBAI: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma is one of the most popular shows of the small screen. The comedy series which started in the year 2008 has been successfully running for 12 years and there's no stopping.

In fact, this is one such show whose popularity is only rising with every passing day. From kids to adults, everyone enjoys this light-hearted comedy show.

While the show started on a grand note but no one knew that it will run for such a long time on the small screen.

There's an interesting trivia about the show which no one knows. Well, initially, the makers had planned for a 500-episode series and the show was set to go off-air after 500 episodes.

However, with the growing popularity and the craze of the show across the nation and also in many parts of the world, the makers continued with the show. 

So, the show was first set to go off-air in the year 2010, however, it's been more than a decade and the show doesn't seem to stop.
