Double elimination strikes: Amruta Khanvilkar and Paras Kalnawat bid goodbye to COLORS’ ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10’

MUMBAI: As the finale of COLORS’ ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10’ draws closer, the competition intensifies with no room for mistakes. Judge Karan Johar shocks everyone this weekend by revealing that not one, but two contestants will bid farewell to India’s favourite celebrity dance reality show. This revelation terrifies the unsafe contestants who were expecting a single elimination. Last weekend, there was a dance-off between ‘Madhuri Ke Rockstars’ and ‘Karan Ke Johars’ and as part of the losing team, Niti Taylor, Rubina Dilaik, Amruta Khanvilkar, Gunjan Sinha & Tejas Verma and Paras Kalnawat were unsafe.

Having received the least number of votes, Amruta Khanvilkar and Paras Kalnawat had to say goodbye to the show. Judge Karan Johar, who announced their elimination appears utterly shocked. Amruta, who is skilled in Indian folk and classical dance has had an incredible journey on the show. Her first performance earned her appreciation and a perfect score from the judges. Her stint was replete with ups and downs, but she consistently experimented with various dance forms. Shedding tears, Amruta says, “I feel extremely sad as my journey in ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ ends, unexpectedly. Dancing in front of Madhuri ma'am was the best experience of my life, and I will always treasure that memory.  I am grateful and thankful to COLORS for giving me this opportunity. When I joined this show, I was a different person, and this journey has changed me for the better. I admit that this elimination is very painful to me, however, it is a competition and only one person will be lucky enough to win the trophy.”

The other eliminated contestant of this weekend, Paras Kalnawat is a non-dancer, but his trajectory on the show has been inspiring. Despite failures and injuries, he always pushed his limits and amused the judges and the viewers with his performances. He was appreciated for the meticulous work he did on his dance moves. In his concluding performance, he received a perfect score and compliments from the judges and the guest judges. As he bids farewell to the show, Paras says, “Firstly, I want to thank all the judges, the team of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, the COLORS’ team, choreographers, and contestants for showering so much love. My biggest appreciation is to the audiences who poured all their love and support. I believe I have won this show as I always thought my growth in life had ceased. When I got an offer from this show, I immediately said yes, I will do this and learn a lot. I’ve experienced many injuries, but I never gave up hope since I always wanted to give my 100 percent. I came here to win hearts and I guess I have won tons of them!”
