Education can bring about a change in our society- Sheetal Khandal

Sheetal Khandal
The gorgeous Sheetal Khandal who has been impressing viewers with her village avatar in Colors’ Balika Vadhu (Sphere Origins) as Gehna has been performing excellently well after the death of her onscreen husband on the show. Playing a young widow might be an uncomfortable experience for many actors, but Sheetal has definitely taken things in her stride as she says, “I think I have taken the experience as a challenge and as an actor I have to do my best in any role. Also with the love and support I am getting from my viewers, I feel it is just a transition for my character.” Talking about the society that looks down upon young widows, the actress shares, “It is a difficult time for them as people believe them to be ill-lucked. In India there are places where widows are even today kept in a desolate place, after they break-up all ties with family and normal life. They shave off their head and are considered a misfortune for the entire society.” Balika Vadhu too saw a similar track previously but now the characters seem to have progressed in their thoughts.
