JD Majethia, producer of Hats off Productions, is the king of comic genre. He is the man behind cult shows like Baa Bahu Aur Baby, Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai and Khichdi. Now, he is back with his latest offering on Star Plus Ek Doosre Se Karte Hain Pyaar Hum. “Baa Bahu Aur Baby was loved by many people. After it went off-air we thought about making its modern day version but with a different concept and new characters. This is when Ek Doosre…happened after lot of hard work and brainstorming. It is a family drama that will entertain the audience with its fresh content,” shares JD with Tellychakkar.com. Usually, producers don’t create a bank of episodes and shoot cut-to-cut. But JD is someone who believes in working in his own style. “The channel asked us to create a bank; hence we went on air with 35 episodes in the kitty. In a world where track changes happen every day, to come up with a bank is like setting a trend,” JD goes on to share. Furthermore, Deven Bhojani is someone who has always been closely associated with JD and has worked with him in many shows. So why is he missing from JD’s latest show? “It’s not like we take Deven in every show but we only take him when we feel that the role is apt for him. Though he is my best friend, we did not feel the need to have him in this show. Had there been a role for Deven, we would have definitely taken him.” And guess what? I and my wife Swati are part of the team of writers in the show. “Yes, we have also tried and brought in a new team of writers and they are doing a great job,” ends JD with a smile.
