Tellychakkar got in touch with the actor where we went back to the memory lane with him.

Which was the silliest or most bizarre rumour about yourself?

People think I’m some 40 year old who has directed and produced a lot of films. I’m not that old and I have not a lot of the things that people get to see on Google search about me but I have done things close to that.

What was the funniest thing you’ve done for ‘script ki demand’?

I once did a show, ‘TV ke Uss Paar’ on Zee Zindagi in which I had to run behind a stray dog and that dog had run away from the set mid-shooting. Then we had to cheat everything. So in one of those shots, they had put a vessel on my head and for two episodes, Ihad that vessel on my head. I don’t know if people found that funny.

Which is that one thing you do for which your parents always scold you?

We all have such habits and I have one too which I’m trying to get rid of otherwise I don’t wake up on time, get cranky and then we all start fighting with each other, I mean it’s a Punjabi family.

Who’s your secret crush from TV industry?

I think Mrunal Thakur although she’s not in the TV industry anymore.

Which was a hairstyle during your childhood that was forced upon you?

All of it. They were all forced upon me by my dad. He used to do that ‘Katora’ cut and all the neighbours used to laugh at me.

Which is the funniest memory from your college days?

College was very funny for me. Once I was making the whole class bunk and I was caught. And something or the other always used to happen. I had this silly habit of laughing in serious situations. So I was told to be thrown out of the class. However, I was a good student.

How did you feel the first time when you saw yourself on a hoarding?

Honestly, it was a very pleasant moment for me. I was very happy but I don’t really get excited with such things. It was a good feeling but nothing overwhelming.

Which is that childhood memory that always made you emotional?

All of my childhood memories, be it with my parents, my family and with my grandparents. We used to get together that time more than we do now. Now we are a little distant.

Which prank did you pull off on the sets of Thapki?

I used to something or the other everyday which even now makes me laugh. So one day we were shifting and one of my co-actor said that he does a very good acting of having an epileptic seizure. So I asked him to do that and shot a video of it. Then I called my EP and told him that he is not well and that I’ll have to take him to the hospital. Everybody started panicking and then I stopped answering my EP’s calls. So we took good 10-15 minutes to get that build-up and then we reached the set. We saw the whole unit standing there, waiting for us and we were sitting inside the car and laughing. It wasn’t funny for the but it was very funny for me.

Can you share a mischief from the time when you were not an actor?

I’ll tell you something that I’m not proud of. I must be 3-4 years old and my brother is 2 years elder to me. So one day a teacher told us that 2 jackals cannot kill a lion. Me and my brother just looked at each other and then he put a blanket on him and the rest is history. After that, he left teaching us. Some regrets from my childhood.
