MUMBAI:Harphoul Mohini is a Hindi language action romance movie based on a Haryanvi Jaat Boy and Malayali Girl produced by Cockcrow Entertainment and Shaika Films.

Supriya Shukla is one of the most beloved actors who has left her mark in people’s minds with her portrayal in shows like Tere Liye, Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki, Sanskar, Kumkum Bhagya, Kundali Bhagya and more.

Shukla started her acting career in 1992 with the TV serial Tanhai which was aired on Doordarshan. In 2004, she appeared in the most popular TV serial Wo Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki which was aired on Sahara TV channel. She later worked in various serials including Bahu Begum and Naagin-4.

Apart from TV appearances, she appeared in several Hindi movies including Parineta, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Main Tera Hero, and 3 Idiots.

Supriya is currently seen in Harhpoul Mohini as Phoolmati.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about her journey and exploring OTT. 

You have explored a lot of different mediums and OTT is one that has really flourished in the past few years, what are your views on the platform that OTT provides?

I personally feel that any medium doesn’t stop an actor, that is my point of view and my thinking. I always feel that whether I do theater, which I did 4 years back because I have been busy with TV and I have done a web show, but TV does take up your whole time. I don’t think there is any difference as far as an actor is concerned and the mediums are different but it is the same as I am performing for a film, or for a scene on television or OTT. As an actor, even if it is one line in an ad, it has to be proper and the medium doesn't matter as a performer. Everything is a challenge, every scene is a new chance. The new avenues have definitely given more chances to actors for sure.

What are the kind of roles that you would want to do moving forward?

Honestly, I just don’t know, I don’t have a specific thing. I feel like the simplest characters are the hardest to do, it’s what you do to add layers to it. A simple mother can become such a strong character, like in Kumkum. She was a single mother but she came to be so strong and there have been times where she went to slap Abhi, and when we started I did not that Sarla could do that. You explore the character everyday yourself, so I don’t think too much about what kind of roles I should be getting or anything like that because whatever i do or get, I will try to do my best with that.

Fans have been a big part of your journey, what is something you would like to say to them? 

I would just like to say that I am so so grateful that everybody has loved me so much, also the roles and characters of course. They have showered so much love on me. I went to Indonesia to represent Kumkum and Kundali. Usually, the protagonist get that kind of love but for a character of a mother to do that, I am so grateful and I promise to keep entertaining them with all of my work, be it other characters or films. I hope they keep showering their love on me.
