But it was his roles as Aryan in Imlie that was the turning point. Now, after biding adieu to the show a little while ago, the actor is all set to start a new journey with the show Dharampatni, produced by Ekta Kapoor. The show will air on Colors and stars Kritika Singh in the lead along with Akash Jagga, Gurpreet Bedi, Ashish Trivedi, Vijay Badlaani and Utkarsha Naik.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about his new show, his character,

When you choose a character, how much of a conscious effort do you put in to make sure that it is different from the previous character you have played for the fear of being stereotyped?

That is there in the thought process. I wanted to do something completely different from what I have done before. To be honest, right now, I am not in a position to choose between too many things. There are certain things that we need to keep in mind. The choice is not in our hands as much, but to take something and turn it into a completely different thing is definitely in our hands. That’s what I try to do if you gave me another intense character. I would derive that intensity from somewhere else. I wouldn't have done the same thing as before, but done it differently and shown different emotions.

The OTT space is ever expanding, seeing that you have chosen a TV show can we expect to see you exploring that space?

There is no bifurcation as such, between Television and OTT. Our TV shows are also working on OTT and it has come together now. I have done web shows as well while I was doing TV, so I don’t think it is such a big deal. Whatever work comes your way, you should do your best, that's what I believe.

Anything you would like to say to your fans?
