MUMBAI: Amal Sehrawat is a popular actor who started his career as a model and participated in many television commercials and modeling events early in his career. He got the first major breakthrough in 2013 from the film 'Satya 2', where he played the role of TK. After this film, he was also seen in Ram Gopal Varma's "Sarkar 3". He appeared in a negative role opposite Amitabh Bachchan and it was highly appreciated.
Nimrat Kaur Ahluwalia is currently in the Bigg Boss house and Amal and Nimrat were co-stars in the show Choti Sardarni.
TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about Nimrat and what advice he would give her.
Your co-star Nimrat is in the Bigg Boss house, what was your reaction when you found out?
I was extremely happy to know that Nimrat is entering the Bigg Boss house because the kind of person that Nimrat is, she always wants to challenge her comfort zone. First, she became a lawyer. When she was getting comfortable there, she became an actress, and then when she got comfortable in fiction, she moved on to reality and I am really happy for her that she keeps challenging herself.
How have you liked her game so far?
Well, I think so far so good. She’s been able to impress me with her game, and the best part about it is that she has been able to be herself and has been vulnerable as well. Her emotional outburst is what I liked because in real life as well, that is how we react. We either become angry or cranky and she was not shy to suppress it or afraid to show it to the world. It takes guts to be real in front of the camera, especially when you already have a public image. Her being herself is really commendable.
What do you think she should be doing or the kind of people she should be associating with?
I think she should continue doing what she has been doing which is being honest and vulnerable because pre-planning does not work in the Bigg Boss house. The pattern of the show is such that whenever someone tries to follow a pattern, Bigg Boss breaks it. Being open and honest to the game is what one can do and Nimrat has been doing that. She should associate herself with positive people who keep her morale up and who don’t say negative about her.
Fans have called the channel biased toward her, what is your reaction to that?
Fans are entitled to their own opinions but I don’t think so, because then she would have been presented differently or she would have been given some bonus points and that hasn't been the case. It’s just that she is playing so well, so criticism is bound to happen.
Amal plays the role of Santok in the show Harphoul Mohini on Colors TV.
