Do you remember your first-ever audition?
“My first ever audition was for an advertisement. This was 24 years back. It was a popular brand and when I went for the shoot, I saw famous television actors. I lost my confidence and felt very conscious about facing the camera. I did not know any technical terms they were using. It took me 6 months to bag my first project but then there was no turning back after that.”
Do you remember the first moment when you felt you were famous?
“I was doing a lot of advertisements back in the day and whenever I used to go out, for instance, to get vegetables, people used to turn and look at me. I knew I was famous then.”
Do you remember your first pay cheque?
“Yes of course. It was on contract and I was very happy when I got the cheque because in a day I had made a big amount of money. It was 35000 Rs for just one day but I was on a contract that I couldn’t collaborate with other brands for ads for that certain period.”
Do you remember the first fan moment?
“Yes, it was after one of the advertisements I had done. Whenever I used to go around people used to identify me with that advertisement and the bit I did in it. Even the kids did it a lot and after a point, I got annoyed and fired at them.”
Do you remember your first friend in the industry?
“It was my first daily soap and was with Directors Kut production. There I met Geeta Tyagi and we are still very good friends. We both are shooting for different shows of Four Lions productions. We bond well and to date are very close.”
