Kritika Yadav plays the role of Pratiksha in the upcoming show.

She made her acting debut in a Tamil comedy film, Rayar Parambarai, and the same year she appeared in the show, Aapki Nazaron Ne Samjha in the role of Charmi.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor with to talk about the new show, her character, and more.

You are embarking on a new journey, what can you tell us about your character?

My character’s name is Pratiksha Parekh and she is a simple girl from a Gujarati family. She’s very loving and caring and can do anything for her family. She’s a very family oriented girl, but she also changes according to the situation and is a strong and independent woman. So, she has two sides. She is strong and is emotional as well but she makes very rational decisions, which I think is a great quality.

When you first got to know about the show and heard the narrative, what was the perception in your head about it?

When I first auditioned for the show, I understood that this is a very positive character and she is deeply emotional. The added bonus was that she is a strong and independent woman regardless of being emotional. I’ve always wanted to do a character that had these qualities and I love the it because it is full of positivity.

Every character has certain level of depth and needs preparation for the same, did you do any specific kind of preparation for this role?

Language was a bit of a barrier because my character is from a Gujarati background. But, we have been getting help with the nuances. Pratiksha Parekh is a very sweet, simple optimistic girl and she’s very homely, so to go into that layer was a little difficult. But, with the help I have been getting , its getting better and I hope it’s all good by the end.

Dharampatni starts to air on 28th of November on Colors and stars Fahmaan Khan, Kritika Yadav, Akash Jagga and Gurpreet Bedi in lead roles.
