MUMBAI: After her successful stint in Jijaji Chhat Par Koi Hai, Hiba Nawab is all set to be back with her new show.
Hiba will be playing the lead role in Star Bharat's upcoming show Woh To Hai Albelaa.
The show also stars Shaheer Sheikh, Kinshuk Vaidya, and Anuj Sachdeva in the lead roles.
Hiba will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar. The actress is pretty excited about her new journey in the show and so are her fans.
TellyChakkar got in touch with Hiba who spoke at length about the show and much more.
How exciting is this role for you?
I am very excited because I'll be getting into drama and romance after almost 5 years. I have been doing comedy for a long time. I needed a change. I loved doing comedy and that is my favorite genre. But still, as an actor, we want to experiment and do something different. I got a call from Rajan ji and he wanted to have a meeting for a new show. I had no clue about it. I was really excited as I have worked with him in Tere Sheher Mein. I met him and heard the concept and my character. I really liked it and I just wanted to do it and I was so sure that I wanted to be a part of the show because of Rajan ji. Also, he launched me with his show 7 years back. So, it was amazing to collaborate with him.
Can you shed some light on your character?
My character's name is Sayuri Sharma. She is a very strong and level-headed woman. Kanha who is played by Shaheer is extremely fun-loving and Sayuri is extremely opposite of him. She has loads of responsibilities on her due to certain reasons. There are no men in her house and she is taking care of her whole family. She has a mother, a younger sister, and a grandmother in her family. We had a major dispute with Kanha's family. That's the reason I am always mad at him and I just hate him. There is some past story behind it which will be revealed soon.
How has your experience been working with Shaheer and Anuj?
My experience has been great. Both of them are great actors. Acting is all about reacting. I was extremely nervous for this show as it is Rajan ji's show and on the top, it is a drama series. So, it is full of emotions, drama and all. I haven't done it for a long time. They are amazing actors and I have fun doing scenes with them. Even Rajan ji shot one sequence when we were in Hyderabad. It was the first time we shot together and we had fun shooting with him.
Rajan ji wanted someone who has not done such a role for a long time. He said that he wanted me to do this as I have done comedy for a long time. He felt that I am like a clean slate that he can mold into this new character. And it makes sense as there is rawness.

Woh To Hai Albelaa is all set to hit the small screens from 14th March onwards on Star Bharat at 9 PM.
