MUMBAI : Sachin Tyagi has been a part of the industry for a long time and is currently playing Manish Goenka in Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. He has been a part of shows Ramayan- sabke Jeevan Ka Aadhar and Tere Sheher Mein.

TellyChakkar recently got in touch with Sachin Tyagi and got to know some very interesting details about his life. 

What was your first audition like?

“It was for the show Family Business. I debuted with that show. It aired on Star One and the channel was getting launched at that time. The channel later changed to Life OK. The show Family Business turned out to do quite well.”

When was the first time you got the feeling that people know you?

“I was a singer before I started acting. It is difficult to point out that time when I had this feeling. I still don’t feel that way. Yes, people do come up to me and ask for pictures clicked with them. Because wherever you go, people know the television actors as a lot of people watch television shows these days. Plus our show has been on for so long that people might have seen me a few times at least. I have been known from the time I started singing and my album came out but people started to know me by my character after Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Yet, I don’t feel that I am famous and I don’t wish to attain that either. I am very happy in life.”

When was the first time you saw your work?

“I have never quite liked my work, I only find flaws in it. There are a lot of people who look at their work and feel great about themselves and their work. But when I look at my work, I am only able to find where I lack and what I could have done better. I am fairly hard on myself when it comes to working. I am not my fan or favorite. “

Do you remember your first ever pay cheque?

“I did an ad shoot a long time back. I earned 10,000 Rs for it. Apart from that, when I was 13 or 14 years old, I had done some salesman work at a milk stall. I had asked my father for permission that I wish to work and he agreed. But then a few months later, he fought with me to make me leave it. I don’t remember correctly, but I think I was earning 35 or 40 Rs a day and in those few days, I had earned some 150-200 Rs. So that was not exactly a pay cheque but I did earn something. This was like 33 years back.”

“Do you remember your first fan moment?”

“I have never believed I am a star and that I have fans. I just feel that there are people who like my character and the show I am associated with. There could come a day when people might not even remember me because I have seen a lot of times when I have been with really big stars and people are coming to me. I don’t understand then why they are coming to me and not them when they are much bigger stars. The world’s memory is really weak and people forget easily.”
