MUMBAI : Anupamaa has been ruling the television screens ever since it went on AIR. According to the latest plot, Nikhil’s drastic step of leaving Dimple comes as a huge shock to Anupama, but she still chooses to stand with Dimple. The story takes a turn as Kavya gets a mysterious letter with a deadly threat. While Baa warns Anupama to back out, Kavya supports Anupama and decides to go to the office. Unknowingly, she puts Anupama in great danger.
Sagar Parekh is an Indian actor and model. He recently entered the Star Plus show Anupamaa as Samar Shah. He also appeared in TV shows such as Tera Yaar Hoon Main, Balika Vadhu 2, Rajaa Betaa, and Internet Wala Love. Sagar has been active in the entertainment industry since 2014.
Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actor and got to know interesting insights.
What are your thoughts about the current track of the show?
“Dimple is a stranger who just met Anupama and unfortunately she gets raped. Seeing that, Anupama is the type of woman who will not let injustice go unnoticed. She will always stand for women like these. She brings Dimple home and Anupama is quite impressed with the fact that Dimple is not ashamed about what happened to her and wishes to fight. The basic motive behind this is that the makers are trying to show that when something like this happens, you are not supposed to stay quiet and it is a social message for the audience. Nimrit, who she married after eloping from her house, has left her. This shows that even if your love does not stand with you in tough situations, you have to stand for yourself. Samar will also not be okay with such a thing. He will stand in support of Dimple just like her mother.”
On one hand, Baa does not want Anupama to fight as she fears it might backfire while Anupama wishes to fight for justice. As a guy, what is your take on the situation?
“The reason why Anupama is standing with Dimple is because it happened in front of Anupama and she regrets she could not help Dimple at the moment it was happening. So the least she can do is to take a stand for Dimple. But Baa is unable to understand this because she was not there at the moment. Baa is worried about her own family. This is the contrast that happens in real life too. I feel something is wrong, stand with what is right. If one person starts doing it, I am sure it is human nature, everybody will come and stand together. You should believe in the country’s law and stand against what is wrong.”
It has been some time now since you entered Anupamaa, does anything feel different or changed to you?
“Yes. I have done several shows in the past but Anupamaa is not a show anymore, it is a cult. My life has taken a U-turn. Nowadays it is very difficult for me to walk outside. I could walk out in pajamas but now I have to keep in mind what I am wearing because people come to me for pictures and that stays on. So I need to be dressed properly all the time and I am more conscious. Sometimes I have to wear a mask when going to places with a crowd because sometimes a lot of people come to me. It gets difficult to handle them. But my life has changed a lot and now I do feel like a celebrity."
