MUMBAI : Sandip Sikcand is one of the ace producers of TV serials.

His hit shows like Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum and Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali are still on everyone's mind.

Well, the popular producer launched his brand-new show a few months back titled ‘Bohot Pyaar Karte Hai’, starring Karan V Grover and Sayli Salunkhe in lead roles.

Sandip is a well-respected producer in the television industry and has been connected to many successful shows.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the ace producer and asked him if Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali Season 2 is going to launch soon, and what are his thoughts on the TRP numbers on the show Anupamaa.

Is Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali Season 2 going to be launched soon?

Let me clear the air that the show is not coming back with a second season. I know that the show shut down too fast and people have realised that it was a wrong decision, but now nothing can be done. I am working on a new show with Sai Ketan Rao which will be launched soon, but whether or not Shivangi is in the lead. One will have to wait and watch. But definitely, Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali Season 2 is not coming.

What do you think is the success of serials like Anupamaa, which is constant on the TRP ratings?

The one thing that television writers need to know is how to differentiate between two stories. In the first six months, people are used to something different, but then it stretches to the same topic and that needs to be changed. The one thing I don’t understand is why is the girl’s marriage so important in the story and is seen as increasing the TRP ratings; that needs to change. In the case of Anupamaa, the story is strong since Rajan Shahi has shown how a woman comes out of a bad marriage and is willing to live a new life, but in the end, it deals with the business which is the TRP ratings.

Why is TV always talking about the story of women and not men?

No, in fact, television is the story of everyone. The only problem is that we don’t make such stories or else we would have made it in the past. It didn’t work, so we made up minds that it doesn’t work. The fact is that men do have emotions, they do have a story to say and that needs to be changed. We need to take the risk as their stories will also be interesting to say.
