With just two episodes hitting the small screens, Dhadkan has managed to grab the audience's attention with its intriguing storyline.
TellyChakkar got in touch with Sanyogita Bhave, who is seen in a pivotal and never-seen-before role in the show.
Character overview...
I am loving the character that I am playing. Viewers have always seen me playing a vamp and negative role. I have tried something new this time. But here, I am playing a dementia patient. For me, it was really a challenging role to play. I have seen people having Alzheimers and short-term memory loss, but we don't know what dementia is actually.
Vidyut plays the role of Abhay, who is my son and his role is more challenging. He is looking after me as well as his work. He leaves me at home all alone to work and has to be very much on his toes.
Facing challenges...
When I came to know that I'll be playing a dementia patient, I researched about it. I saw a few videos on Youtube but it did not help me much as there was nothing in detail. I just took hints from here and there. While performing the scenes, I just thought about one thing that my eyes should look dead. There should be no expression in my eyes. It was a little difficult for me to keep my eyes extremely unexpressive and in that zone. The first day was a struggle for me but then I got into the character.
Sceptical taking the role...
I was not sceptical at all but I accepted it as a challenge. I had to my audience that I can do different kinds of roles apart from playing negative. I didn't want to get typecast. While I have given many variations in negative roles, it is after all a negative role. I want to give the audience as well as casting directors a chance to cast me in different roles. I come to know on the set as well about how I am performing seeing how the co-stars and the director react.
Casting experience with Janet Ellis Prajapati...
I feel really nice working with Janet. She is very frank about everything. Janet doesn't randomly call an actor to audition for a role. She knows the capacity of that particular actor and accordingly calls the actors. I have personally experienced this a lot of time for auditioning for roles that do not fall in my age bracket. The one thing that I like about Janet is that she knows her actors very well. She categorizes the actors and calls for an audition.
