TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about his new show, the expectations, and the prep for his character.
What made you say yes to this show?
Firstly, it’s a Sony Entertainment Television show. Second, the story was a bit atrangi, a little different. Third is the production house, pretty renowned and known for making great shows. Fourth reason is the motivation in the show, the direction team, and the captain of our ship, Ravi Bhushan sir. He is a very fascinating human being and I am having a lot of fun working with him.
Did you do any special preparation for this character?
In the beginning, I had some problems understanding the psychology of the character. We would have these workshops and I would often take this workshops home or I would try to be in character outside of the workshops as well. Like, if I went for a movie or I went shopping for myself, I would just be in character. Same goes while being with friends, or sitting in the gym. My friends would come and talk to me and if they look up to me they ask me for advice. Generally, I give decent and nice advice. I would not point you in the wrong direction, but like my character has very strong views on women. I would mess around with my friends a lot and would just give random advice and say women are like this and they are like that and they would just look at me in silence and wonder what is wrong with Adnan. I needed to develop a certain kind of a psychology about some topics, like women, life and how abandonment feels, and sometimes I would take these feelings home which had affect on my family and friends.
How different is this role, from the past roles that you have played?
The previous characters stood for something different and this guy stands for something different. For me is the core of who he is, it is the core of the character. His views are very different from what society thinks. Generally, I have played people who think the way society thinks in a way. But, this guy is going against the way people think. He is a loner in that aspect and he is an Man alpha, so that’s different.
Katha Ankahee airs on Sony TV from Monday to Friday at 8:30 PM and stars Adnan Khan and Aditi Sharma in the lead roles.
