MUMBAI: After several extremely successful collaborations, Zee TV and Balaji Telefilms recently presented viewers with an exciting story about life, love, karma, and destiny. Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, 'Bhagya Lakshmi' follows the journey of Lakshmi, a selfless girl of limited means, who despite her humble background and the curveballs life has thrown at her, always puts others’ needs before hers. The show has already impressed the audience courtesy its intriguing storyline and relatable characters. In fact, one such character which has kept the audience at the edge of their seats is Balwinder. Played by Annkit Bhatia, Balwinder is Lakshmi's ex-fiancé and Rishi's driver, who is on a mission create havoc in her life. While Balwinder continues to cause chaos, Annkit opens up about his share of struggles and how he feels blessed being part of Bhagya Lakshmi.
Annkit Bhatia, who hails from Roorkee in Uttarakhand, has never been hesitant about taking up an unconventional characters. Talking about his role in Bhagya Lakshmi, he mentioned, "When the show was offered to me, I knew this will be a role that will help me explore myself as an actor. I was aware about how this will bring me more good work and I took it as challenge to play this negative character differently." Talking about his journey, he further added, "After completing my education, I shifted to Delhi and while I wanted to pursue acting, I knew it will not be that easy. I struggled for ten years while working in different BPOs to save money for an acting course. But I never did a course! After ten years, I didn't want to wait anymore, so I joined theatre and started making audition videos. I started sharing them on social media and I strongly believed that someone would spot me and that's how I actually landed my first break."
While the actor is currently in a good place, he feels that having good projects in hand all the time is the key to survival in the industry. As Annkit revealed, "Good projects and sorted finances truly boost your confidence. In fact, I did one or two projects initially just to generate some backing for myself. I must say that I am glad that good work has been coming to me even in such tough times and I am really excited about Bhagya Lakshmi. It is a new challenge for me, and I wish everyone keeps showering their love on our show.”
In the show, Balwinder tried sabotaging Lakshmi's wedding with Rishi recently, however, his plan was foiled. However, will the fairytale wedding be a happy ending for the couple? Or has Balwinder planned something else?
