He is like our constant support, always there for us: Charrul Malik on her father

MUMBAI : Charrul Malik, who is currently seen in Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain!, says her father is her constant support and is always there for them. She even shared an incident from her childhood where her father fixed a deformity of hers only with his love and dedication.

Speaking on the occasion of Father’s Day, which will be celebrated on June 16th, she said, “My father is my strength, and my mom is not with us. It will be nine years in December since she passed away. My sister Parul and I are twins. When we were born, my parents divided the responsibility between them; my mom said she would look after one child at a time, and my dad should take care of the other. Because we were twins, I had a bit less space in my mom's womb, and when I was born, I was slightly curved like an arc, with my legs turned upwards.”

“My father said he would fix this without any doctors and started massaging my legs every day. By the time I was four months old, my legs had straightened completely. When I turned six, my parents told me the whole story. If it weren't for my dad's hard work, I would have had this deformity, and I owe all the credit to him. Since then, my dad has always been with us. He is like our constant support, always there for us. Right now, he is in the US, but ever since we were kids, he has done whatever he could for us,” she added.

Charrul and her sister Parul share a very strong bond with their father. In fact, the girls never needed tuition, as their parents would teach them at home.

“We never took any tuition as kids; my dad taught us math and English, while my mom taught us Hindi and social science. They divided the responsibilities equally and did everything for us together. I still remember when we were young, my parents had a love marriage and moved to Chandigarh to start their lives from scratch without taking a penny from their parents,” she said.

“When the Barbie doll came out, my sister and I really wanted one, but our parents believed in teaching us the value of things and didn't buy it for us right away. Instead, my dad made a 5-foot-5-inch doll for us. He sewed it himself, using a sewing machine, and my mom drew the face and made the hair, dress, and shoes. I wish I still had that doll; it was so precious to me. All the kids loved it more than a Barbie doll because it was made by our parents with so much love,” she added.

Charrul says her father taught her the importance of honesty and doing good for others. “He has always had a positive outlook, and we have been blessed to receive his values. The biggest lesson is to be completely dedicated to your family because nothing is more important than family,” she ended.
