MUMBAI: Himesh Reshammiya needs no introduction at this point as he has given a variety of amazing tracks to so many generations and went on to evolve from a music director, to singer, to actor and then a director.
However, it is unknown to a lot of fans that before becoming a music composer, he had started as a producer in the Hindi TV industry. That’s right! Himesh Reshammiya was a producer in the beginning before taking up any other role in the industry.
He turned a producer and a story writer for a number of Zee TV shows when satellite TV was on the rise. Himesh Reshammiya has shows like Andaz, Aha, Aman, Aashiqui, Amar Prem and Jaan, to his credit.
When talking about the shows produced by the multi-faceted personality, Andaz went on-air in 1995. The show starred Bijay Anand, Sudesh Berry, Navneet Nishan, Shekhar Suman, Kanwaljeet Singh, Poonam Dhillon, Prem Chopra and many more. In the same year, Aha released, starring Shekhar Suman, Farha Naaz and Farooq Shaikh. The show ran till 1996 and later came to Aman in 1998. The show was on-air till 2002.
Meanwhile there was another show, Ashiqui, that took off in 1999 and starred Farida Jalal, Arun Govil, and Naresh Suri. In 1997, there came a Himesh Reshammiya-produced show, Amar Prem which starred Neena Gupta, Madan Jain, Farha Naaz, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Reena Roy and Om Puri.
It’s interesting to see how Himesh Reshammiya started so big, yet so humble and has reached such great heights of success today that not one, not two, but more than three generations of audiences connect to his work and listen to his tracks.
