Hello all, I am Mitali Nag. Currently, you can see me playing the lead protagonist Krishna in Zee TV’s Afsar Bitiya.
Born and raised in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where my parents reside, I am the only girl child of my parents and naturally have been pampered a lot.
Having completed my schooling from St Joseph Convent High School, Nagpur, I completed my graduation in English Literature from a Nagpur-based college. Later I did my post graduation from Lokmanya Tilak Institute of Management Studies & Research.
Since my schools days I have been into dramatics and music though I was also very active in theatre. After my college days, I became very solemn about acting and thought of giving a try in television. So I convinced my parents to allow me to go to Mumbai and chase my dreams. Though mom was a bit skeptical about it, but she had to give in since I was strong willed.
After coming to Mumbai, I worked in a BPO (call center) for a year. Interestingly, I had a friend there who came to know that Zee TV was coming up with a show and was casting for it. My friend promptly sent them my pictures. But here comes an interesting anecdote...
I still remember the day when I got a call from the casting director (CD). I was in my hometown, Nagpur for a holiday and CD gave me a brief asking me to send him the footage. So I shot the footage on a handycam and uploaded it on YouTube that was shown to the channel for approval. When I came back to Mumbai, I was called for the final look test and got selected for the lead role of Krishna in Afsar Bitiya. I feel content to play this character and it’s like a second home on the sets. All of us behave like a family and are very helpful to each other. I am really lucky to be a part of this show.
Spending more than 12 hours in shooting, one tends to live the character he/she plays in reel life. I have become more outspoken like Krishna.
To unwind myself, I like to watch movies, in fact, I have recently bought an iPad in which I watch my favourite movies and play games too. So it’s a stress buster for me after a long tiring day. And I also love singing, dancing and cooking.
Till date I have had many good moments in life, but the one which will top my list is yet to come. But yes, I had a proud moment when I won the Aadhi Aabadi Women Achiever's Award for my passion and determination in acting at a young age.
And lastly, I thank everyone for liking me in the show. I promise to keep entertaining you over the years. Goodbye!!
