Good looking, humble and soft spoken, all these qualities perfectly describe the talented Mohit Abrol.
The young lad, who is currently enjoying his stint on Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi (Balaji Telefilms), is doing complete justice to his character Nirbhay. The young man believes in method acting.
When we chatted with the actor, he shared, “I believe every actor uses some methods to portray their role, so do I."
“Initially, I was very friendly with Radhika (Madan), but soon I realized that our friendly attitude may reflect onscreen as well, which is not desirable for our character sketches. Hence, I am purposefully maintaining distance from her. I even watched Haryanvi movies and listened to the songs to master the accent, which in turn helped me to get into the skin of the character”, added Mohit.
Even after so much groundwork and planning, the actor doesn't seem to be happy. When asked about the reason, Mohit confessed, “I am very disappointed about the fate of MATSH and the way it's coming to an end. Being one of the leads of the show, I certainly had lots of expectations from the project. I thought that with the introduction of my character, the show would climb up on the TRP ladder, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Now, the news of MATSH going off air is truly disappointing for me as an actor," he said.
As we continued to chat with him some more, he opened up about another issue as well...
So with Shakti (Arora) being the face of the show and widely loved by the audience, are you insecure about him? With a hearty laugh Mohit averred, “Not at all. I know I am doing a good job and I believe as an actor my job is to perform well, so that my character looks convincing to the audience. And I am doing just that. Moreover, there is a hell and heaven of difference between Shakti’s character and mine. Hence, I am no way insecure about my work or any other actor's."
We also quizzed him about his personal life and Mohit replied with a shy smile, “Currently, I am not dating anyone. I am completely focused on my work and career. May be a few years later I will plan to settle down, but nothing as of now."
Good luck, young man.
