I am very hungry as an actor - Maleeka R Ghai

Although she was a part of the show for a while, Maleeka R Ghai made an impact with her brilliant performance in Star Plus’ Saraswatichandra (Sphereorigins). With the serial bidding farewell, we got talking with the actor about her journey in the show. “It was a journey of around a month, but I must say it was one of the best times of my life. I shot continuously with the cast and had a great track which the makers included to pep up the drama. Hence although I was the last one to join the show I had my share of limelight with such a great character,” smiled the positive actor. When asked why she took up a cameo role in a show that was heading towards its end, Maleeka said, “It was a very good character and to be honest I did not expect it to do so well. I am a hungry actor and my sole requirement is a good power packed role where I can show my capabilities. That had been the reason why I quit Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, for I wasn’t able to perform to the limit I wanted to.” “This role was a very challenging one where I had to play a mentally unstable person who got better with time. During the flashback scenes, the young Saraswati had to be portrayed by me, so overall I got to play three variations in my short stint, and that’s highly satisfying for me,” she added. Talking about the bonding between the cast, Maleeka quipped, “It was a very sweet and humble team and completely professional. Since I had most of my scenes with Gautam (Rode), I must say he is a great actor as well as a very good person. I really had a great time working with the team for sure.” And finally the actor ended by saying, “Also I would like to take the opportunity and thank all my fans who gave me so much love. Their posts and comments on social networking sites gave me a lot of positivity and the urge to work better. Keep loving me and I promise to entertain you all with more and more interesting roles.” Well said Maleeka!
