In 2011, I started entertaining people in Aapno Ghar, which is an amusement park in Delhi. I used to get 50 rupees per day. I must have given 500 auditions in Delhi and after a lot of struggling in 2015, I managed to get a commercial in Mumbai. During my stint at Mumbai, I have tried doing many things. I participated in a live comedy show, hosted a Ganpati event and things like that. I got a lot of applause there as a host."
Sohit's first work in television was 'Tu Mera Hero' where he played a funny role. "After this, I played a goon's character in the show 'Police Factory.' During this time, I was not having enough money to live in Mumbai, so I used to travel from Faridabad to Mumbai depending on my assignments. After this, I have done shows like Rang 'Rangilo Banke Bihari' and 'Diya Aur Bati Hum,'" he shared.
Sohit's big break came from Benaifer Kohli and Sanjay Kohli's Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. Sohit added, "The director of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai - Shashank Bali is a great man and he gave me the role of a news anchor in the show where I am famous for the tagline 'Namashkar.' I consider Shashank Bali as my mentor. I was in Goa recently with the cast of Bhabiji and had a great time."
After a long struggle, Sohit right now lives in Mumbai. His portrayal of Mani in Tenali Rama is also garnering a lot of praise from the audience. Hard work and patience finally paid off for Sohit. Kudos to him for his persistence!
