The actor's mum feels that Lord Ganesh's blessings have worked wonders for her daughter Amrita. As the only child, her parents showered unconditional love on her and even forgave her follies. Amrita Prakash, aka Sanskrti of Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai fame, is one such lucky girl. Every year, the Prakash household celebrates Ganesh Utsav. In fact, her mother performs an elaborate puja (prayer) for five days at a stretch for her well being. Mummy says 'it may sound superstitious but these pujas have worked wonders for my child. They have been showing results and my faith just gets stronger every year. Last year, she got the movie Vivaah. And this year she has got a good show. I only hope she is showered with blessings always" While mummy dear maintains that these pujas are meant for her, Amrita speaks a different language. "We've been celebrating Ganesh Utsav for many years. I was three years old when I first got a taste of it. These rituals aren't done just for me. It's for the well being of the whole family," says Amrita. Despite the celebration, Amrita confesses that she's not very religious. Her devotion to Lord Ganesha stems more from the fact that she finds Him very cute. Amrita gets emotional when she has to immerse the idol. "We immerse the Lord at Juhu beach and it's always me who performs this ritual. However, I no longer enjoy this as it pollutes the water" concludes Amrita. We think the environment friendly Ganesha himself would endorse Amrita's opinion.
