I think we (he and Shilpa) look pretty convincing as a couple in Ek Mutthi: Mohit Dagga

Talented Mohit Dagga, who is currently seen as Vitthal, husband Kamla Bai (Shilpa Shirodkar) in Zee TV’s Ek Mutthi Aasman (DJ’s A Creative Unit), is giving in some power-packed performances in the show. Interestingly, though the actor is younger than his on-screen wife, but he feels that a character is a character and it has nothing to do with one’s real age till it’s convincing enough. In fact, he also shed some weight to fit into the role, as he tells us, “I felt that it was the demand of the character as he is a mill worker who has lost his job and is trying to keep up with the expectations of his family. He couldn’t have been healthy the way I was, so I worked on my weight.” Tell him that he plays a husband to someone who is not of his age and he explains, “I think we look pretty convincing as a couple. As I have seen men whose wives are fat and they are thin.” Were you apprehensive about the role? “Not at all, I think it’s all destiny. When I played a negative role in Love Story, people said I won’t get positive role. Incidentally, I got Left Right Left, Bhaskar Bharti and Aise Karo Na Vida in which I played positive roles. In Bairi Piya, I played a negative character and next I bagged a very positive character in Ek Mutthi….” Talking about expectations from the project, he quips, “I just want the show to do well.
