A channel coming to an abrupt closure is certainly big news. And as a producer, if one of your shows was airing on it, then we are sure you won’t be a happy man, given the financial losses. Yes, we are talking about the closure of Imagine TV. Though our sources have whispered in our ears that the channel has promised its stakeholders, like producers, that “their losses will be taken care of”, yet the suddenness of the decision is something which has not gone down well with many. Due to the development, Dheeraj Kumar’s (Creative Eye) show Preeto also had to bid adieu to its fans in a jiffy. And Dheeraj is certainly not amused about it.
At the success party of his other show Niyati on Sahara One (it completed 300 episodes), Tellychakkar caught up with the man and asked his take on Preeto ending abruptly. “I think the channel took a very sudden decision. Had they told all the producers that they were going off-air, we could have brought our shows to a logical ending. The channel could have sold the concept in the future, but now they can’t do it as none of the shows ended on a proper note,” said Dheeraj.
However, he shared that he is happy with the success of Niyati. “I am really happy with the good work that my team has been putting in. I am also thankful to the channel as there is no interference from their side. They give us the liberty to work at our own space which is very rare in today’s scenario. My other show on Sahara One, Neem Neem Shahad Shahad was not doing well, but they gave it another chance and we revamped it as Tujh Sang Preet Lagayi Sajhna and its doing decent these days.”
When quizzed about his upcoming show on Star Plus, Yeh Pyaar Nibhayenge Hum, starring Karan Wahi and Reema Wohra in the leads, Dheeraj refused to comment anything.
We wish him all the luck for a successful year ahead!!!
