MUMBAI: Simba Nagpal has become a household name for his character of Virat Singh in Colors' show Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. The actor is garnering praise for his stellar performance in the show.
Actors always reveal how they bag roles and much more interesting things related to it. Simba told a leading web portal what made him choose the role of Virat Singh.
Talking about it, Simba, said, “When I was new in Mumbai, I used to travel by public transport for auditions. From where I used to live, I had to often cross a red light area to reach my destination. At that time, many transgenders would come and bless me. When I would offer them money, they would not take it. The day I got an offer for ‘Shakti’, which talks about their lives, I just couldn’t refuse it. I felt like doing something for them in my own way by being a part of a story that talks about them. In fact, I don’t mind if I am cast opposite a eunuch as I believe in method acting and would love to do whatever comes my way.”

He added, “When I passed that red light area recently, they told me that they see my show and that made me so happy. I always wanted to spread awareness among people and via the story of ‘Shakti’, I hope we have succeeded in doing that. We are all God’s children and should accept each other just the way we are.”
The show also stars Rubina Dilaik, Vivian Dsena, and Jigyasa Singh in pivotal roles and is based on the life of a transgender named Soumya.
Well, Simba proved to be a perfect choice for the role.
