Imlie fame Sumbul Touqeer Khan on bagging the show: I never thought that I am an apt face to play the lead role in a TV show

Sumbul Touqeer Khan gets candid about her career in the TV industry.

MUMBAI: Sumbul Touqeer Khan is currently winning hearts with her performance in Star Plus' show Imlie which hit the small screens last year in November.

The show became a huge hit among the audiences and everyone is loving it. Imlie has been a hot favourite among the fans and has also topped the TRP charts.

Sumbul plays the lead role on the show of Imlie. The actress's on-screen pairing with Gashmeer Mahajani has worked wonders. 

Sumbul has achieved lots of success at such a small age and is quite confident about how her career will shape up in the future. 

In an interview, Sumbul was asked what she thinks about her career in TV and how she would like to take things forward. 

Sumbul said, ''I never thought I would bag a lead role that too in Star Plus' show. I always wanted to work in films and make my career there.''

On being asked why she never thought about establishing a career in the TV industry, Sumbul said, ''That thought never came in my mind. I always thought that my face is apt for films and not TV. I pictured myself as a hero or heroine's sister in the films.''

Sumbul says that she has always dreamt of doing Bollywood films and would love to play lead roles in the movie. 

Well, for now, Sumbul has established her name in the TV industry with the show Imlie as it has proved to be a huge hit.
