On Indian Idol 15, an emotional Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani talk about sibling relationships

MUMBAI: This weekend, Sony Entertainment Television’s much-loved singing reality show, Indian Idol 15, will celebrate sibling love with its heartwarming Bhai-Behen Special Episode! Esteemed judges, Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani, and the multi-talented Badshah, brought their signature charm and camaraderie to the show while the contestants shared personal stories of sibling relationships, filling the evening with laughter, nostalgia, and love. The episode featured many soulful performances, but "Idol ka Aashirvaad Face," aka Ragini's rendition of "Phulo ka taaro ka" was particularly touching. This performance, moved everyone on set to tears, especially judge Shreya Ghoshal.

After the performance, Shreya Ghoshal commented on Ragini and her brother’s relationship and said, “Ragini, do you know why we call you 'Aashirvaad ka Chehra'? The bond between you two is so pure, the connection you share is so beautiful. It moves me so deeply when he looks at her, there’s a constant radiance you have. You've done so much for your brother, but he loves you deeply too, even if he doesn't say it, it shows in his eyes. This song which you sang is the personification of brother-sister love, you sang so beautifully, it felt like you sang for your brother, and I could not stop the tears from flowing, I was looking at you two and thinking about my brother. This relationship is the most fun, but it has the most love as well.”

Vishal shared a childhood memory and praised Ragini as well. He added, “When I was a child, my mom used to teach me this song, and I didn't like it. She would sing "Ek hazaaron mein meri behena hai", but I used to sing "Ek hazaaron mein meri mumma hai" because my sister used to be my biggest enemy. Now I want to say this – that I work only to be deserving for my parents and my sister. This sibling relationship is more important than any blood relationship because this childhood partnership, hiding each other's flaws, being partners in crime, and the laughter you shared – this is the biggest relationship.”

Moreover, Ragini’s brother, Devendra Shinde, shared something special about Ragini and said, “I won't say much because Ragini has given me specific instructions about what to say and what not to. She may seem small and innocent, but she's not – she’s mischievous. Whenever I study, she throws water on me and runs away. If I get angry or complain about her, she starts crying. But despite all this, she gave me a new life. If I am here, it’s because of her. She was my "Aashirvaad ka Chehra" even before she saved my life by donating her bone marrow. When I was going through a tough time in the hospital, Ragini's birth brought me joy. I knew I'd have someone to play with when I got home. I have planned a small surprise for Ragini – I have started a blood donation drive in Ragini's name for Thalassemia patients. Not everyone is as fortunate as I am to have a sister like Ragini.”

Don’t miss this episode of Indian Idol 15, airing this weekend at 8:30 PM only on Sony Entertainment Television.
