Indian Telly Technical Awards: Introducing Arun Bharadwaj, Executive Producer, Roop

Indian Telly Technical Awards

MUMBAI: One of fastest growing mediums for entertainment is television. The reach of television shows is so immense that we have entered an era wherein Bollywood actors too feature in television shows.

Over the years, the faces of television, that is, actors, have always been recognized and appreciated by the audiences, but they seldom know about an array of people working alongside for endless hours on the same project. To honour these unsung heroes of television who work behind the lens, IndianTelevision.com has introduced the 15th edition of our annual Indian Telly Technical Trade and Programming Awards, which recognize the best in television production, editing, writing, direction, distribution, and creation.

The execution of television shows requires extensive effort, and that's where an executive producer comes to the rescue of the producer. An executive producer takes care of the shooting process and deals with any obstacle that comes in the way of a smooth shoot. He is the one who ensures a proper balance between the actors and the crew.

Arun Bharadwaj, who works as an executive producer for Colors’ Roop - Mard Ka Naya Swaroop (Rashmi Sharma Telefilms), believes the job is not a cakewalk at all. Sharing an incident, he said, ‘As an executive producer, I am supposed to make sure the unit starts shooting on time and packs up at the given time. Thus, we can’t afford actors coming late on sets. I remember once, a very popular actor came a couple of hours late on the sets, but when I confronted him on his indiscipline, he got angry and threw a fit. Later on, of course, things were sorted out between the two of us, but that’s how my job is. I have to maintain a good relationship with the actor, and at the same time, I need to be strict so that the shooting is done on time.’

Quite a tedious task, don’t you think?

Kudos to Arun!
