MUMBAI: While Jay Bhanushali has been active on TV, he has stayed away from the fiction genre. He was last seen in the daily soap, Kairi - Rishta Khatta Meetha in 2012.
He was seen as a participant in the recently-concluded 15th season of Bigg Boss, is all set to return to action four months after he was eliminated from BB in November. He will be seen as a host on the second season of Superstar Singer 2. The actor was also offered Dance India Dance Li’L Masters, but he chose to be a part of Superstar Singer.
Ask him if he is averse to taking up daily soaps and he replies, “People have made this perception that I only like to host and I’m averse to taking up daily soaps. I want to break the perception. My first love will always be acting and that’s what I am looking forward to doing. I was offered a couple of daily soaps, but they didn’t materialise. I am looking for good and meaningful work on the small screen. TV has made me what I am today and has also enabled my transition from an actor to a host. But I want like to inform the makers that I am interested in taking up fiction shows.”
