Kamya Panjabi, who portrays the powerful and enigmatic Mohini in Sun Neo's popular show Ishq Jabariya, shares her refreshing perspective on New Year resolutions and her thoughts on the ever-evolving world of television.
Kamya says, “I don’t believe in making New Year’s resolutions. If I want to change something in my life or start something new, I do it right away. I don’t wait for a specific day like New Year’s. I think if you truly want to do something, you should start at that moment instead of waiting for a special occasion. Nothing magically changes on New Year’s Day. All the strength and motivation you need are already inside you. I love my life the way it is, and I want to live it confidently and on my own terms.”
The Ishq Jabariya actress also shared her views on the television industry, highlighting the unique charm it holds for its audience, “I don’t think television needs any changes. Television and OTT have different audiences, and they enjoy different types of content. OTT often shows practical scenarios and real locations, but when television tries to adapt those styles, it doesn’t always work because our audience prefers the fictional world we’ve created for them. They enjoy grand sets, beautiful sarees, family dynamics, festivals, and the emotional ups and downs shown on TV. This is their source of entertainment, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If small changes naturally fit in, we’ll embrace them, but otherwise, we’ll continue to entertain our audience in the way they love. So, no major changes and a very Happy New Year!”
In Ishq Jabariya, Kamya plays Mohini, the aunt of Aditya (Lakshay Khurana). The show follows the heartwarming journey of Gulki (Siddhi Sharma), a lively young woman with big dreams who faces unexpected challenges on her path to love and self-discovery.
