Mrunal Jain has left everyone speechless with his ‘Shankachurna’ avatar in Life OK’s Nagarjuna... Ek Yoddha. The best part for Mrunal is that he simply loves his negative portrayal on the show...
Talking about the positives of playing negative, Mrunal explained, “I enjoy both positive and negative roles. But negative makes it more challenging for me because I have been told that I have a very positive face, and can always portray a positive character very well. So it always becomes more challenging for me to play the other extreme. It is interesting that a person like me with a positive personality can be a bad guy on screen. That's the magic of acting.”
The well-built body has always been Mrunal’s asset. But critics have not spared him too!! “I have so many people around me from the industry, who keep commenting on my body. My critics have always made big comments on my body. For me, my body is my asset and temple. But people keep talking of how I have a ‘steroid’ body. I try to ignore such claims. I have built my body with lot of hard work inspite of being a vegetarian. And most people cannot digest this fact.”
So do you think it is compulsory to be a good looker to become an actor? “No. It’s not necessary. Of course its one of the criteria but it is not compulsory. In the industry you can see examples like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Irfan Khan, they are not best in looks but they are best in talent which make us to watch their films. So yes of course, I am a big fan of Hrithik Roshan but I would not say because of his looks. But at times I am a bigger fan of Irfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui for their performances. So it is a mixture of both. If you have the talent like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, you have the look like Irfan Khan and the luck like Salman Khan, there is nothing that can stop you. But three things together are very difficult which Salman Khan has it on his side in his career.”
Well said, Mrunal!!
